Who uses Pcounter?
Pcounter is used by all kinds of businesses and institutions
around the world. The objective to use pcounter changes
from company to company and between the different kind
of business segments in the market.
As a general rule, all companies will have a value
added service in using Pcounter, where the objective
can be control of print cost, decrease of print cost,
overview on client or project print cost, cost recovery
of print cost for client/project (billing) or e.g. print
control and/or print recovery for education.
Market research shows that most companies in the world
have none or limited control or view in regard to cost
of printing. In general the cost of printing is many
times higher than most corporations "thing",
and research shows that corporations which is aware
of the real cost also is very focused on controlling
and decreasing the cost.
The first step is to know the cost, and the most effective
way of doing this is to install print tracking software,
which in Pcounters case also can be used to control
and decrease the cost.
Studies show that just by installing tracking software,
the print volume decreases between 10-15%. If the print
volume and cost is being tracked by e.g. department
and communicated to the department each quarter, the
print volume and cost will decrease even further.
Knowing the print cost and volume is first step, both
for internal use and if the company is dealing with
clients and projects.
User/student accounting
You can setup Pcounter to charge Students/Users each
time they print. A printing account is setup in Pcounter
for each user. You can add funds to their account.
Prices can be assigned to each paper size and when
a page is printed the $value will be deducted from
the users printing account. At any time the user can
check their balance from the workstation. When the
balance is $0.00, the user will be notified and they
will not be able to print until more funds are added
to their account. This set up is ideal for Academic/Education.

Charging Printing to Clients or project
Pcounter has the ability to evoke a POPUP window.
You can then enter a Client code and / or a Matter
code. At any time you can produce a report showing
totals of printing for each Client Code. You can then
add the totals to the clients invoice. This is ideal
for Lawyers, Accountants, Consultants, Engineering,
Architecture etc

Network Printing Monitor/tracking
You can very quickly set up Pcounter to track where
the volumes of printing are distributed across the
printer network. Pcounter will display reports on
what printer has the greatest workload and which users
print the most. Users are tracked by their Logon Name.
This set up is ideal for any company or institution
who wants to get a clear overview in regard to print
volume and cost.
